Louisiana Judge Uses Racial Slur
Michelle Odinet, a Louisiana Judge, was recorded using the racial slur N-gger while watching the footage from an attempted theft which occurred at her home. As reported by CNN a video surfaced in which a male voice stated, "Mom's yelling n***er, n***er." Which is followed by a female voice saying, "It's a n***er, like a roach." while laughing. Michelle Odinet later admitted to using the racial slur and was identified as the female voice in the video. Her excuse for using her chosen race-based slur was, "The (burglary) shook me to my core and my mental state was fragile.", "I was a wreck and am still unable to sleep. I was given a sedative at the time of the video."
According to the American Psychological Association an individual’s mental state (AKA Mental status) must be confirmed by the use of a mental examination -no such examination was reported. Further, sedatives are drugs that have a calming effect and reduce behavioral excitement by depressing nerves found in the central nerve system. In small amounts a sedative is likely to cause sleep and in larger amounts it can be a hypnotic, which increases drowsiness and reduces motor activity. A sedative does not increase or cause a person to spew racial slurs. Moreover, as heard in the video Odinet sounds excited and full of energy as she calls the offender a roach like n-gger. Being that sedatives encourage lessoned motor activity and drowsiness how is it she wasn’t trying to calm herself by sleeping? Even when taken in a low dose, sedative use doesn’t make someone a racist and a racist she is -no sedative necessary.
